Karlsruhe

The weekend I went to Karlsruhe I was looking to take it a bit easy but things got out of hand very quickly.  That was only because Karlsruhe was such a great city with a ton of stuff to see.  I was primarily focused on the botanical gardens and the palace, which took all day!  It was a great day for the gardens.  Apparently a lot of other people thought so too because there were a bunch of folks getting wedding pictures taken.

The gardens had a nice greenhouse attached to them so I checked that out too here is a picture of the cactus room.  There were a lot of other ecological systems represented too.

The gardens had a small art exhibit with it so I looked at that.  They had some great artwork but of course no pictures were allowed!  After the gardens I went to the palace.  I had read that the palace was really nice, and it was, but I missed the part that said it had a HUGE museum inside!

Inside in palace was a museum that chronicled the history of Germany from recorded time to modern times!  I was an impressive exhibit and well worth the trip!

After the palace I was pretty well spent but I wanted to see a grave in the town square that was a pyramid.  It looked a little out of place but it was really interesting.

Some guys were near by playing Chinese music, they were actually pretty good!

Karlsruhe was a great city.  A little difficult to get around because of how the streets were laid out but a lot of fun none the less.  If you're looking for a awesome palace to see, Karlsruhe is the place!
